Hello!
Currently, I believe Subtle Mind and Visualization are the
two most beneficial exercise practices I can implement into my life. When
practicing the witnessing mind I had a moment of being able to observe and
witness the natural rising and falling of my thoughts and feelings therefore, I
am drawn to this practice the most. However, once I was able to settle my mind
and chose an individual the visualization exercise gave me direction. I use
both of these exercises throughout the day when I feel stress but, have begun
to implement them into my morning exercises of reading the Bible and running.

That is great that you are able to implement them into your morning. It sounds like your a dedicated person with your running and all. I am trying to find a good time of day that works for me. I too liked the visulization exercise. I think it was hard for me to get into some of the exercises for whatever reason. I do how ever plan on doing a couple after this class is over.
ReplyDeleteMeditating in the morning I find the most peaceful. There is something about expieriencing the sunrise that will always remain mystical and proufound. I also try to go for a jog every morning. I love practicing my techniques after my run, i feel incredibly alive.
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle,
ReplyDeleteI was curious if you have been able to identify what might give you the feelings of stress? How nice that you are able to do this while you run. There are so many things that go through my head while I am exercising that it is cleansing for me, but not an actual mentally focused exercise. I find that when I have too many items on my to do list, that I feel extra stress to complete them all. When I complete a short exercise of taking in wisdom from a wise one, it does help to calm me. That is the beauty of these activities is that we can select them based on individual needs. I was wondering how will you use this in nutritional counseling? I hope to be able to help my clients through health and wellness coaching to experience many of these mental activities. I wish you the best. Candii
Hi Michelle,
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you have been able to use meditation with your morning runs. If I meditate in the morning I feel happy, but quiet and subdued all day and I feel overwhelmingly sleepy. So I find after my hard day this is what works best for me. I also enjoyed the way a thought would come and I could watch it fall away. This class has truly opened my eyes for peace and wholeness in life.
Hi Michelle. I chose subtle mind, as well, but I also chose loving-kindness. I DID get a lot out of visualization, as well, though. I find it ALL beneficial in their own way. Good luck to you in the future. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle, I found both of these exercises helpful also. I beleive once we can visualize our thoughts and feelings and have control over them we can bring upon a sense of happiness and wholeness. I wish more individuals could experience the wonderful practices we were introduced in this class. I have felt a sense of control over my thoughts and have learned how to relax and let my stress go. Keep up the good work on your path to optimal health. I wish you well in your journey! ~Kat~
